How NannyPod Makes Money

NannyPod HQ - Business Model (5 Revenue Streams)

  • Membership Fees: 50% commission. Membership Fees from parents ($10 for 14 days one time, $20/month recurring or $180/year recurring; cancel anytime). These are split 50/50 with NannyPod HQ & the Local Area Manager. NannyPod HQ keeps $90 on every annual family membership and $10 on every monthly membership.

  • Sitter & Infant Care Appointments: 12.5% commission. On each appointment a 25% Booking Fee is charged to parent (e.g. if fee is $100 to parent, $75 is paid to sitter, remaining $25 is split 50/50 with NannyPod HQ & the Local Area Manager). NannyPod HQ keeps $12.50 on every $100 spent by parents.

  • Family Consult Appointments: 50% commission. (e.g. if Local Area Manager charges a fee of $150 to family, this fee is split 50/50 with NannyPod HQ & the Local Area Manager). NannyPod HQ keeps $75 on every $150 spent by families on consults.

  • Nanny Placements: 10% Commission. e.g. if Local Area Manager chooses to charge a 5% placement fee based on a $30K salary paid to nanny = $1500. Local Area Manager keeps $1350. NannyPod HQ keeps $150 on every nanny placement in this conservative example.

  • Software Fees: Software Fee from Managers ($299 Set Up + $1200 Annually or $149 Monthly). NannyPod HQ keeps 100% of these fees.

NannyPod standardized the industry by background checking everyone (Local Area Managers, Families and all Sitters / Nannies). 

Easy IRS Childcare Tax Credits

All childcare receipts for families are easily accessible via the NannyPod software platform. Families can get an IRS Tax Credit by claiming up to $6000 in childcare costs in 2017. See IRS Form 2441 and IRS Publication 503 on childcare costs for eligibility. Maximum Tax Credit is $2100 in 2017.

Easy use of a Corporate Dependent Care FSA / DCAP

Pay for your childcare with pre-tax dollars by using your Corporate Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP). This reduces your childcare expenses. Maximum contribution to an FSA / DCAP is $5000 in 2017.
